Chris Coleman grew up in Houston and attended Houston public schools. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and University of Houston before entering the University of Texas at Houston Dental Branch graduating with as a D.D. S. in 1987. Dr. Coleman practiced as a general dentist for 5 years in the Bay Area before entering his residency in Endodontics from 1992-1994 also at UT. Upon completion of his residency in endodontics with a Masters degree he joined Dr. Steve Magers, Jr. to practice endodontics in the Clear Lake area and has maintained a practice since then. He also was appointed to the faculty at the University of Texas Dental Branch to teach endodontics and taught there from 1994 to 2010. Dr. Coleman became board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2001. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Ninth District Dental Society (past president), the American Association of Endodontists, the Houston Endodontic Alumni and Friends (current officer), the Houston Academy of Endodontists (past president), the Bay Area Study Club (past president), the College of Diplomates and other alumni groups. He has published two articles in the Journal of Endodontics and occasionally lectures. He has also served as a member of the Scientific Advisory Panel for the Journal of Endodontics. In his spare time, Dr. Coleman enjoys the outdoors and sports, especially basketball. He was inducted into the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Hall of Fame in 2009 for basketball.
